With a strong foundation in online therapy, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients from the comfort of their own homes. This approach allows for flexibility and accessibility, ensuring that my clients receive the support they need, no matter where they are. See below for my special interests in Perinatal and Genetics & Rare Diagnoses.

Perinatal Clients

I am highly experienced in working with perinatal clients, offering compassionate care during the critical stages of pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. My experience includes supporting parents through the emotional challenges of pregnancy, birth, and early parenting, as well as helping them navigate the complexities of perinatal mental health. Whether you’re dealing with postnatal depression, anxiety, or the unique pressures of parenthood, I’m here to support you toward greater well-being. I am a proud member of the MumsAid team and support perinatal clients from diverse ethnic backgrounds.

I am experienced in providing therapeutic support during every stage of pregnancy and the postnatal period. Pregnancy and childbirth bring many changes and challenges that can impact your well-being, but you don’t have to navigate them alone.

Together, we can explore:

  • Prenatal anxiety and depression

  • Hopes and preparation for your baby

  • Antenatal testing results and implications

  • Birth and recovery

  • Postnatal anxiety and depression

  • The impact on relationships

  • Previous miscarriage or baby loss

I have additional training and experience in supporting clients through the pain of miscarriage and baby loss. This is a profoundly difficult time for both parents, and I am here to provide the compassionate support you need.

My previous experience as a Genetic Counsellor in the NHS gives me an understanding of the challenges experienced during antenatal testing, results, and their implications. You can also seek further support from Antenatal Results and Choices (ARC), who provide impartial information and support.

Genetics & Rare Diagnoses

In addition to my work with perinatal clients, I bring a specialized focus on genetics, drawing on my extensive background as a genetic counsellor. I have over nine years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families facing rare genetic diagnoses. My understanding of the intersection between genetics and mental health allows me to offer tailored therapy that addresses the specific needs of clients impacted by genetic conditions.

I have a strong passion for genetics and its connection to Attachment Psychotherapy. My experience includes:

  • Supporting clients with a personal or family history of genetic conditions such as Huntington's Disease, Bardet-Biedl Syndrome (BBS), and Cystic Fibrosis (CF).

  • Offering long-term therapy to parents of children with complex medical needs and life-limiting conditions like Batten's disease.

  • Working with clients affected by hereditary cancers, including BRCA and Lynch Syndrome.

  • Managing clinical trials and research in the NHS, particularly in Huntington's Disease through Enroll-HD and Legato-HD.

I share my experiences in my Blog in hopes to raise awareness of these complex topics.

Together, we can explore:

  • Your genetic diagnosis or that of a partner or child

  • The impact of a genetic diagnosis on family dynamics and caregiving roles

  • Issues of inheritance and survivor guilt

  • Family planning options, including prenatal diagnosis, IVF, PGD, and surrogacy

  • The emotional and psychological effects of living with a complex medical condition

I am experienced in providing therapy to clients with genetic conditions and understand the complexities this can bring. My work has also involved collaboration with the Huntington's Disease Association (HDA), offering valuable advice and support to those affected by Huntington's Disease.

Through online therapy, I have successfully supported clients across these areas, helping them build resilience, manage stress, and improve their overall mental well-being. I’m committed to providing a safe, empathetic, and effective therapeutic space where you can explore your challenges and work toward meaningful change.
